Things that make me smile: customizing tea cups

I had the day off on wednesday this week, and I had bought some tea cups and saucers to design recently. So I got to work and made myself some tea cups!

Here you can see the sketch in progress.

And here is the finished sketch of the trees. 

I used tracing paper to transfer the sketch to the mug. 

I drew the trees on using a sharpie pen. 

And here are all the cups and saucers finished! Baked them at 350° for 30 mins and they are ready for use. So cute! 

Next on the agenda? A Harry Potter themed tea set to give Tyrone for Christmas. I can blog about it because he asked for me to make it for him. I will try and post pics along the way of that set!

Lucky girl.

The doorbell rang today, and it wasn't anyone I recognized, but he was holding a vase of flowers. My mom came out and she looked at them and said "Well they aren't for me..." So I answered the door, and guess what? Tyrone sent them to me just because :) and he sent me a little note wishing me good luck on my finals to come. Oh I love him. That was so sweet of him. You should have seen my face. Beaming from ear to ear.

Valentines day.

For Valentines Day I hand made Tyrone's gift. I ordered a vintage, worn out, deck of cards. And created the "52 Reasons Why I love You," booklet. It was a super fun project that turned out really well. Very cute DIY idea! Easy little craft. 

Here are the supplies needed, deck of cards, tacky glue, two book rings, scissors, a printer, and a list of 52 reasons. I made my inserts using Photoshop CS4.

And here it is done! 

And here is the gifts Tyrone got me, aside from the flowers and card I had posted a few days ago. He got me this pretty ring, and a necklace. Favorite part of the entire Harry Potter series, when Snape tells Dumbledore he always loved Lilly. Best gift ever. So cute. This is kind of our thing :) 

Sweaters.

I went to the store to get an "ugly" sweater for an ugly sweater Christmas party I'm going to. I ended up buying a rather cute one, and so I had to go and get a for real ugly sweater ha ha.

And I got these cute leg warmers. Looks like I'm going to the cabin!

And this ladies and gentleman is the ugly sweater I shall be wearing. It kinda looks like a couch. 

Here is my sister trying to decide which ugly sweater she should get. (She chose the one on the right!) 

So now we wait and see who wins the ugly sweater competition.

Angry Birds Gingerbread houses.

I went to the festival of trees yesterday with my girly friend. This is one of my favorite gingerbread houses. There was also an "UP" house one. So creative! I'd just eat them up!
