Things that make me smile: customizing tea cups

I had the day off on wednesday this week, and I had bought some tea cups and saucers to design recently. So I got to work and made myself some tea cups!

Here you can see the sketch in progress.

And here is the finished sketch of the trees. 

I used tracing paper to transfer the sketch to the mug. 

I drew the trees on using a sharpie pen. 

And here are all the cups and saucers finished! Baked them at 350° for 30 mins and they are ready for use. So cute! 

Next on the agenda? A Harry Potter themed tea set to give Tyrone for Christmas. I can blog about it because he asked for me to make it for him. I will try and post pics along the way of that set!

Hopefully I'll have this done by the end of the week. I love the way the shirt has turned out. I mostly just need to finish shading (which takes forever and is more of an art than science..). I have two requests in to make one for other people. Cool eh?

For Patrick.

I had only posted one thing today, compared to what I usually post that is like... nothing. And Patrick insisted that I post because I "always have something to say." Ha ha, so here it goes.

I sliced multiple fingers open while matting. I spent over 7 hours in the photo lab today. I think my grand total is like... in the 30's. Yes that includes the class time I've spent on this project. My hair is narly (in a bad way). I haven't had dinner yet. I haven't been on tumblr for like... a whole day. [Gasp]. I only have 3 more photos to matte!!! Huzzah! I just need to write my artist statement now. Oh ya and the show is tomorrow (as in Wed cause it's technically Tues now).... My human bio class was full of pig feet, it was soooo gross I wanted to throw up. I'm starting to get really hungry now. Pigs feet make me hungry? Groty. Inception is out now, I think I'll get the blue ray even though I don't have a blue ray player. That is how devoted I am to this movie. I think Interview with the Vampire is way more interesting than The Vampire Lestat. Lestat is such a cry baby geez.

Going on a shoot Saturday!

I like to shoot things... With my camera :). Going to Herriman to take pictures of the fire damage. I will be creating another blog site for it I'll post a link when it is finished.

Photo Essay.

I am working on a photo essay. I haven't 100% decided what to do yet. I can't think of anything interesting to photograph.. I will create (yet another) blog for the project when it is finished I will post a link. It will be done no latter than next week.

Then I get to start working on my final photo project. No idea what to do for that...

It's raining.

I am supposed to take pictures of something "vibrant" however it is cold, wet, muggy, and overall grey outside. So I am thinking of staying in doors for this photo shoot :) I am not a fan of the cold weather. It's even worse when housing refuses to turn on the heaters :/.

To write or not to write.

I have dabbled in writing short stories (I have never finished any although I think they'd be great!) But I keep having this dream, over and over and it is pretty cool ha ha. I am debating if I want to put it on paper. I guess I ought to since all I have been doing lately is photographing things. It is nice to explore outside your favorite medium every once in a while.

Please Help.

Things are looking up.

I have been invited to join some honor society, and I got some tape [finally] so my room will now be covered in lovely instant images yay! That is if I can find the motivation to do it today.

Also the other day was "To Write Love on Her Arms Day!" I don't think I saw many people do it :( But I did! I also drew the Japanese sign for love on my friend Trycen's arm, it turned out pretty badd ass if I do say so myself. Much better than what I did on me ha ha.

If you don't know what TWLOHA is you really need to get in the know. It is an amazing group/project to help deliver hope and help to those who struggle with depression, addiction, self mutilation, and thoughts of suicide. By writing "love" on your arms you are showing that you are a beacon willing to help, and bring hope to those who feel lost and alone. Everyone has a story and we should all be there to listen, and help when needed.

Trycen's arm. He is really a lot tanner ha ha. But it looks pretty awesome. I should be a tattoo artist :P

I thought this sorta sent a mixed message lol. My wrist says "LOVE" and shirt says "WAR" (the shirt is from the 30 Seconds to Mars concert!!!!

Mars!

I just got home from the 30 seconds to mars concert. It was amazing! I loved it, had so much fun! My voice is crackly, and my head hurts, my ears are ringing! Despite the fact I used my cell phone I did get a few decent pictures, I'll share once I have gotten enough sleep and upload them :). Neon trees was there and the lead singers of each band had some fun dance moves ha ha. Not to mention they were both freakin twigs! I feel bad for people who look like they are gonna die if you hug them.

On a side note, the Neon Trees guy was wearing leather pants (skin tight leather pants..) and he was able to kick in the air above his head. He is ten time more flexible than I am..

Well I am off to bed!

Going photo stalking.

I have a project due tomorrow, so I am going photo stalking today. Meaning, I will walk around campus, and follow people until they do what I want. (Without Direction). I'll count the number of weird looks I get.

In other news, I made it into the Alt Space Gallery at my school! I am putting on a solo show in November. I AM FREAKING OUT! I have no idea what to do, how many pictures to use and so on ah! This is bitter sweet, I am thinking of doing the "Unwanted Roommates" photos I took.

PLEASE! Any suggestions will be loved :)

Beautiful sunset!

I guess there are lots of fires in Utah right now. One in Ephraim where I go to school and one up North where I go on weekends. I got some awesome pictures of the sunset (ok they may not be that awesome I haven't looked at them since importing them on my computer). It was red and orange, and I even played with my new filters. It was like straight out of a Sci Fi movie. I felt like we were escaping a bomb and fleeing the city! Pics will be up soon!
