2:30 fire alarms, angry RAs, and Darth Vadar.

At 2:30 am I woke up to a very loud, frightening sound. At first I was still half asleep and tried to ignore it. I thought that the loud buzzing might be coming from my fan so I turned it off and got back into bed. The loud buzzing still wouldn't stop, so I looked at my phone to see if that was making the noise, then my alarm. It finally hit me that the fire alarm was going off. I climbed out of bed and put on some slippers, then grabbed a hoodie. Of course this week was the one week I had forgotten to bring my winter coat, I have a heavier jacket that was sitting on my couch, but I did not think to grab that, no sir I went for the lightweight hoodie.

So the dorm hall files outside where it is cold, and snowing. The RAs tell us to go wait in the parking lot, people kept eyeing the building to see where the fire was but we saw nothing. Our married RA, Jesse, told us we could go to the neighboring dorm hall and stand in their lobby to stay warm. I was so happy to have those friendly neighbors! We all file in to their lobby and their RA tells us we need to keep quiet so we don't wake up their residents. Turns out most of them were already awake, and very hospitable. Some people kept offering us food, even though all we really wanted was a bed.

Two more students made their way to the neighbors quite a while later, one being the RA on the girls side, and the other being a boy resident. We ask them why they had taken so long to get over here, and it turns out they had both slept through the fire alarm. Mikey, the boy, discussed what happened with the RA on the guys side.

RA: So Mikey, how did you sleep?
Mikey: Have you ever been woken up by a man in a mask?
RA: [laughs]
Mikey: NO! Seriously! I woke up to someone banging on my door, and the first thing I yell is oh s**t. I get up and Darth Vadar is standing there! And he started yelling at me!

Darth Vadar was actually a fireman in one of those air masks that they use. So Mikey, and Cherish were both yelled at and kicked out of the dorms. In the end it turns out there was no fire [of course] which was lucky for us. If there had been a real fire the entire building would have burnt down before the fire department had gotten there, seeing as they take their sweet time getting to us... Now the fire alarm is going off in the lobby of the building. I saw if the halls aren't buzzing then I'm staying in my room.
